My Mission
Little Voices, LLC is owned and operated by Dr. Krista Voelmle-Kirchner, PhD CCC-SLP. A speech-language pathologist who has dedicated her research and career to identifying early communication delays, addressing needs of infants/toddlers with communication difficulties, and understanding the variety of hurdles that come with being a parent/mother/father/caregiver of a child with communication difficulties.
The goal of Little Voices, LLC is to provide a full range of high quality pediatric therapy services for all children with communication needs from birth to 18-years of age. We are committed to using “evidence-based practices” and individualized therapy plans with each unique child and family. Specifically, we understand the importance of a family-centered approach when providing care to children and making sure that parents are actively involved in their child’s therapy services. It takes a village!
Our specialized services include speech therapy, feeding therapy, and specialized instruction for parent-child interactions to promote speech and language development as well as a foundation for healthy child development.
About Me
I have always had a passion for working with children. It was not until later in life that I realized I also had a passion for helping others learn how to facilitate communication with their little ones and make an impact on their children's speech and language development. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland. During my time at UMD, I worked extensively in an infant cognition lab where I learned more about early speech and language acquisition. This is also where I made the decision to continue my education to become a speech-language pathologist (SLP) and a doctor in speech therapy to specialize in early intervention services. After completing my Bachelor's I went on to study at the University of Kansas to become an SLP and then a doctor. While in Kansas, I managed an infant cognition lab in the pediatric department at the University of Kansas Medical Center. After Kansas, I went on to work in private practice, specifically focusing on early intervention. I have many years of experience with in-home therapy services, parent coaching, mentoring young SLPs, and teaching other professionals about early language acquisition and the field of speech-language pathology. I have presented many times at the ASHA conference and other pediatric treatment and therapy conferences. I also have numerous publications in various journals.
I am one of four children and grew up in Hershey, PA with my mom, dad and siblings. I have lived and worked in Kansas, South Carolina, Virginia and Maryland. I am happy to now call Pennsylvania our forever home with my husband, who was in the United States Marine Corps, and our son. We welcomed our first son in June 2022. When I am not working, I love spending time with my family. They are my pride and joy! I also enjoy cooking, baking, traveling to new places, trying new restaurants and spending time outside with my boys.
